I WAS BORN ON A ROC IN KABYLIE AND ROCKABILLY SOUNDS SO GOOD !

Victor Leed was a lover of life, he lived it at 200 per hour despite the difficulties of it and he displayed on stage as in life a simple smile, true and generous!
He was passionate about music and he sang all the time from morning till night.
With a strong character, often hilarious, Victor also moved us on stage as in life. On stage performing songs with his charisma, in life leaving us too early,at the age of 44.
He was born on September 19, 1950 in in Aourir, small Kabylie, Algeria.
He received this gift : a beautiful voice.
Her mother joined her husband in Paris with Victor, then 3 months old with his older sister.
They move to Ménilmontant where Victor will confess to have lived there a happy childhood with his parents and his 6 brothers and sisters. A modest and warm family environment.
As a child, he loved to follow the fanfares in his neighbourhood.

At 9, he discovers Elvis in the movie “King Creole“. it’s decided! he will sing Rockabilly in English and in France please ! Pure authentic sound that brings us back to the sessions of Sun Records studios of the 50s in the USA.
So it was in Paris, at the studio Davout in 1980 that Victor recorded his famous album “Thank’s Rock’n’Roll“.

The fate of Victor is interesting in that it is one of the few singers of Kabylo-Algerian origin if not the only one, in the late 70s to have sung Rock in English.

From his real name Laïd Hamdani, he takes the name of Victor Leed in reference to RCA VICTOR and he americanized his first name that will become LEED.
Victor is quickly recognized as an exceptional artistic phenomenon as he is really appreciated for his personality full of humor and kindness.

Victor has a rogue side with a big heart. He learned to fight when it was necessary and to survive like a tiger in the Parisian jungle.
One day a group of racist guys falls on him and even if he did Boxing amateur, he gets away with the body well moped. And he who did not care at all about races, colours, religions !

Victor loves women and they too.

It must be said that he is handsome, brave and talented.

On May 1, 1988, he met Marie-Hélène Carayon nicknamed Polet.
December 17, 1992, they are married in the strictest intimacy to the City Council of the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

Victor tragically dies of long illness, and reached the Stars on October 3rd, 1994 in Paris at Midnight .
